Mérida en Domingo

Every Sunday, the Plaza Grande closes its streets to vehicles and transforms into a market place offering food, drinks, entertainment, and lost of wonderful arts and crafts for sale. Marquesitas My babes have been waiting a year to eat the sweet treat.  Marquesitas are a rolled up crispy thin wafer that is filled with queso de bola and a sweet filling of your choice--the Quijano's favorite is Nutela.  Yum!!       The day was so HOT and humid!  You can clearly tell who the tourists and the locals are.  All of the tourists were sweating and visibly uncomfortable from the heat/humidity.   The locals were dressed in jeans and not a drop of sweat!  We did everything to try to cool down including enjoying a refreshing drink in a bag!   Learning to use the wooden thread spinner (can't remember the Spanish name for it) From the Gran Plaza we headed to El Tucho.  Wow!  Where do I start?  We had delicious botanas (free snacks when you order drin
